Holiday Sangria Recipe

This simple wine drink recipe is a cozy spin on red or white Spanish Sangria. Stir up a large pitcher (or punch bowl) for easy holiday entertaining.

Ingredient

– 5 oranges (I like navel) – 1 lemon – 2 cinnamon stick – 3 rosemary sprigs, plus more for garnish – ½ cup Licor 43 – Honey, to taste (optional) – 5 black peppercorn – 3 clove – 1 (750ml) bottle red wine (I like Rioja) – Seasonal fruit, like sliced citrus, apples, cranberries, pomegranates, and grapes, for garnish

Direction

Juice ½ cup of oranges (approximately 2-3), then slice the remaining oranges and lemon into ¼-inch rounds. In a large pitcher, place citrus pieces, cinnamon sticks, and rosemary sprigs.

After adding the red wine, stir everything together. Make sure to leave the fruit layers whole so they stay in the water. Put the wine in the fridge and cover it tightly with a lid or plastic wrap.

This will let the spices absorb the wine and make the tastes stronger. It works best overnight, but you'll need at least 4 hours and no more than 2 days.

Pour the sangria into cups that have been filled with ice. Add more fruit slices and rosemary leaves to decorate. Good morning!
