Easy Chocolate Rice Krispies Recipe

Easy-to-make chocolate rice krispies are chewy and crunchy double chocolate bars. Chocolate-filled buttery marshmallow rice krispie delights are just like you remember.  

– 6 tbsp unsalted butter – 1 10 oz bag mini marshmallow – ¼ cup dutch process or unsweetened cocoa powder – 5½ cups Rice Krispie Cereal – ½ cup semi sweet chocolate chip – ½ teaspoon flaky salt for topping, optional

Ingredient

Melt butter in a big pot or sauce pan on low. After melting the butter, add micro marshmallows and cocoa powder.

Stir continually over low heat until marshmallows are mostly melted and cocoa powder is mostly mixed with butter.

Remove the pot from heat when marshmallows are mostly melted.  Stir in rice crispy or cocoa rice krispies cereal in two batches quickly and carefully.

Stir in chocolate chips when the cereal is mostly coated in chocolate marshmallow mixture. Scoop the gooey delights evenly into a lined 8 x 8 or 9 x 9 pan.

Put chocolate rice crispy treats in position gently. If desired, add chocolate chips and flaky salt. Wait 30 minutes before slicing and enjoying chocolate rice crispy bars.
