Baked Apple Chip Granola Recipe

Granola is probably your thing if you like oats and crunch. It's hard to beat that sweet and savory combination as a topping for yogurt or ice cream, cereal with milk, or snack. 

– 2 Honeycrisp apple – 2 ½ teaspoons cinnamon, divided – 2 cups rolled oat – ½ cup chopped pecan – ½ cup pumpkin seed – ½ cup slivered almond – ⅓ cup maple syrup – ¼ cup coconut oil – 1 teaspoon vanilla – ¼ teaspoon ground ginger – ¼ teaspoon nutmeg



Heat the oven to 250 F. Core apples. Slice apples ⅛-inch thick. Uniform slices are possible with a mandolin.

Place apple slices in a single layer on two baking sheets, sprinkle with ½ teaspoon of cinnamon, and bake for 1 hour 15 minutes.

Remove the slices from the oven and cool while making the granola. Preheat oven to 300 F.

Sprinkle granola on muffins, quick bread, or pancakes. It flavors and crunchifies baked goods.

Mix oats, pecans, pumpkin seeds, and almonds in a large bowl. In another bowl, mix maple syrup, coconut oil, vanilla, ginger, and nutmeg.

Stir in the syrup/spice mixture to the oats. Place the granola on a baking sheet and bake for 45 minutes.

Wait twenty minutes for the granola to cool down. After breaking the granola into smaller pieces, place it in a bowl.

To add a touch of sweetness and a satisfying crunch to a bowl of oatmeal, sprinkle some apple chip granola on top of the ingredients.

Apples should be broken up into pieces and added to the granola. Both serving and storing the granola are now possible.
