BACI DI DAMA (ITALIAN CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT COOKIES)

Baci di Dama are authentic Italian Hazelnut Cookies sandwiched between melted chocolate. These cookies, meaning "lady's kisses" are an Italian classic and are perfect for the holidays or whenever you're craving a sweet treat! 

Ingredient

– 1 cup hazelnuts, toasted and finely ground – 1 cup all-purpose flour – 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened – 1/2 cup powdered sugar – 1/4 teaspoon salt – 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract – 3 ounces dark chocolate, chopped – Additional powdered sugar for dusting

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a bowl, cream together butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.

Mix in vanilla extract, then gradually add ground hazelnuts, flour, and salt until dough forms.

Roll dough into small balls, then flatten slightly into discs.
